Finding Peace

It's been too long I know. I'm sorry for that... life takes over and before you know it, months have gone by. I've received so many letters from readers around the globe supporting our blog and asking me to continue writing so hang in there with me while I try and take some time to ramble and update you all.

First and foremost, Kajal is continuing to thrive. Her breathtakingly generous heart, courage and sense of humor brighten every day. A few months ago, my mother became very ill and had to have major surgury. It was scary for all of us as my mother is so ingrained in every aspect of our family life, so loved. It was a rough few weeks a few days that seemed touch and go but thank God she came through it and is slowly gaining back her stregnth.

While my mother was in the hospital, Kajal started diligently working on a craft project. She worked on it for hours on end, creating a box lined with colored paper, sparkles and flowers. When my mother came home, Kajal gave it to her. It was a wish box.

Grandma, here, you can make wishes and they'll come true. Make a wish to be better.

Kajal then brought her own wish box into the room. Something we'd made together a year or so ago, when Kajal had been going through a rough patch. I had told Kajal that a wish box was a place to put all her dreams and her wishes to remove her fears. She remembered this and after all this time, when she wanted to do something to make her Grandmother feel better she remembered it. This is the kind of thought process that constantly amazes me with Kajal, he desire to help and heal... how she passes on what she learns herself.

Grandma, let me show you how it works.

Kajal took out a piece of paper and guided her Grandmother on how to write a note and place it in the box.

It worked for me Grandma, I wished for a family and my wish came true!
